Help Exiting the web browser

Probably a stupid question but to exit the web browser I just hit the back button repeatedly until I get back to my home screen, and so now my back button is already looking worn. Any other obvious way of exiting that I've totally missed? Cheers.

Tap the picture of the house which always goes back to the home screen.

Hope this helps!

Backing out is the best method of exiting the stock browser if you want it to actually stop running in the background. It can be tedious, though. ;)

Dolphin and other browsers have an "exit" feature when the menu key is pressed, along with configuration choices of clearing the cache, etc upon exit.

mby - yeah tapping the home button will just the web still running in the background though won't it?

vosg - lol ok maybe not worn down but lets its looking well used ;)

frisco - Dolphin sounds alright then, is it just a free download off the Market?

You could do menu, windows, +, to get a new window with no back button history. Then menu, Windows, and X to close the original window. Then press back once to exit the browser.

I used to do this but now I just press home and leave it running in the background.
