Expected price for a used Nexus

Not sure if I have to have a good or bad ESN phone, if root and WiFi will make it useable or not?

I need a Nexus for App Inventor app building, I don't need it for a "cell" per-say

my LG OV won't stay connected to the APP and using a phone that has built in drivers for the app inventor software sounds like a smart plan.

You're going to have a hard time finding one under that price. I think it's a steal.
Bad ESN would be fine for your purposes, but I'd be wary of buying one since it could be completely non-functional.
Verizon branded ones on Swappa are a bit less:

If you're looking into just development, you could also consider a Nexus S.

why I asked, you can find on ebay, some unlock good ESN Nexus S for just over $100 shipped.

or poeple with a crack screen bad ESN wanting the same price.

its a bit confusing on what to grab.

I just want a decent used one so I can start app building ASPS.

still need to pick out a decent mid lvl laptop just for app dev. $5-800 idea range

I got a budget of $1000-1500 for one but like to spend less on it and go high on a phone if need be.

i've seen CDMA Nexuses on Craigslist for 300-350.. but GSM version go for 350-80..

Verizon and Sprint version significantly cheaper than GSM even though they've got LTE module unlike gsm verison but gsm is unlocked.

OK I didn't see or notice that right off, that would be it, CMDA ones are cheap used, GSM only for scrap plastic is the same price ;)

since I can care less about carrier, it don't matter to me, the core functions are the same. It will be WiFi only test rig.

I think a Verizon one would be the way to go. They are incentivized, so people will take less (it didn't "cost" them anything). They are a penny on Amazon Wireless with a new line, so some people won't have much invested. I'd still think $200+ is going to be the case though.
