Expensive Drop

Ages ago I fell and dropped my S3 which caused a hairline crack - happened months ago.

Now the thing started to overheat and at the end died. Sent it to Samsung and guess what - Due to the damage - warranty voided. Only willing to look at when I agree a repair of the crack (

Thankfully insurance is part of my checking / current account :)

Just annoying as they usually don't repair but send a new / refurb phone. Last time we had issues (iPad) they send a pretty banged up device. I have the garnet red - which is only available from one vendor and I am sure I will be getting something completely different.

But only needs to last 4 months until contract renewal, then I'll be getting the S4 anyway ... obviously :p

Because its free ... well I say now I will be getting the S4 - to be honest, a lot can change in 4 months, who knows what else is out there... I hope they will be offering the Google S4 here in the UK at that time :D

If was on a contract and could get an upgrade id probly go for the HTC One depending on how hackable it is. I couldnt use Sense UI. Pity about the lack of expandable memory though. Id maybe be tempted by the Google s4 if they get round to making the cores work how they were intended to

5 Minute call with the insurance got that sorted. Getting a new one Monday. If it is brand new (apparently it might be) then I won't be upgrading but maybe just select a cheaper plan and stick with the S3. Just a shame that they didn't have any Garnet Red in stock (mine was) so had to settle for the white one.

Got indeed a brand new shiny S3. Only difference is the sleeve around the box. Branding certainly doesn't hurt (branding of box that is. Phone is international unlocked)
