So there is an item I've wanted for a while now.. and was holding out till xmas for.

For some reason or another the thing said "add to cart" on the best buy website but, when you went to checkout.. it said "no shipping" even if it said "free shipping" right above the add to cart..

When you checked to see which stores had it, or it could be shipped to none were an option.

I spoke to an online person who saw no data about this item at all.

Then by some miracle checking yesterday I managed to actually get it shipped to my house.

Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? or have similar experiences? It still says (even though we ordered it yesterday) "In processing" and I was just wanting to make sure that if it is out of stock we will get an update.. or if it is on backorder we will be notified.

I didn't name the item because I am hoping to keep this a more general conversation (and not wanting to be redirected to a specific forum)

I will tell you this, I had a very similar thing happen with the recently released white Galaxy Skyrocket(Monday it showed up on the site), we ended up going in store to order 2 and one of the orders was still jacked up somehow, the other shipped fine.

I do believe they are having major site issues this holiday season. We had a black friday order that was slightly messed up as well.

Well.. hopefully I wont' get it moved now..

but, i'm referring to the htc flyer.

For a few weeks it was just unable to be ordered even though it said 'add to cart' then yesterday out of no where we were able to make the order.

It has said 'inprocessing' for 24 hours now. Just hoping it doesn't turn around and take them forever to tell me they don't actually have it.
 
Sometimes statuses wont update, so they will only tell you part of the story. It's best to call in and see if the CSR has a more updated status or not.

Good idea.

I think I may wait and may be jumping the gun with concern...

Just figured I would make sure if something did happen I would be notified and able to not be stuck waiting forever without realizing it is on backorder.

No.

I said I was worried it would get moved to another forum..

Hence: the htc flyer forum which is relatively low traffic..

especially since there aren't alot of people buying it.
 
Personally, if possible, I always go in store to buy stuff. But yes, as others have states, shipping info may not be the quickest and I wouldn't be surprised if best buy is experiencing high online traffic due to it being so close to the holidays so you might want to consider that.
