Help Exported contacts onto SD card, but can't import?

OK, so I got a replacement phone last week. Before I sent the old one back, I went to 'People' and chose 'Export' to export each possible contact list to my SD card. There were a total of 3. I now have the new phone up and running, and it retrieved 'most' of my contacts from Google and Exchange, but there are some that it didn't. I must have only put them on my phone.

Anyway, if I go to people and choose 'Import', it serarches the SD card and finds nothing. If I try Astro or AndExplorer, it doesn't show those files at all. If I hook up to my Mac and view it as an attached drive, they are right there, might as well have blinking Neon signs on them. I don't get it, what part have I missed here? I didn't use Backup Assistant because it seemed like alot of work when I had an import/export feature staring me in the face.

Thanks in advance for any help

EDIT: Sorry for posting this in the wrong part of the forum, thanks to whomever moved it.!!

Nobody knows how to fix this? I use the built in 'export", but can't use the built in "Import"? There has to be someone who has seen this.

I've used it quite a few times and never had a problem with and haven't seen anyone post on here about problems with it. I stick mainly with google now to back up my contacts.

I exported my contacts to my sd card thinking it would free up internal storage on my Vortex, of course quickly finding out that was not the case. After trying to import them back to the phone from the card, I had no luck. I searched the internet for 2 hours thinking my contacts were gone and I would have to start over, BUT, this worked for me, I'm so happy right now, so had to share. If you use gmail, google exporting gmail contacts, there is a step by step of how to get to your contacts, sorry, I tried to paste the link but it wouldn't let me because this is my first post. Then on your phone, go to Settings-Accounts & Sync-turn on gmail acct sync and wait a few minutes, go back to your contacts and they should be there. Hope this helps
