My thoughts about this whole ideal:

For my part, the point I had made regarding lack of "official" release date announcement, is that everyone is getting upset that Verizon owes them something this Friday because they read it here and elsewhere that it is coming out on Friday. Reality is, Verizon doesn't and they can change dates on a whim despite what direct and indirects are told.

Fact of the matter is, the general public at large likely has no idea about this phone (and likely doesn't care either). That is fine, because it really isn't for them. This is the ultimate geek phone. We have the luxury (thanks in large part to Steven) of knowing almost all the in's and outs of this piece of tech before release. We are the ones clamoring for an unmolested android experience on our favorite network (coverage / speed reasons alone) and most have been waiting two years for the second coming of this type of device. There is nothing wrong with that passion and frustration in knowing something really should've arrive a month ago. Tell Verizon what imbeciles they are for delaying this device and likely ruining their chances of getting another Nexus device. None of you are jumping to AT&T / T-Mobile / Sprint over this
despite what you say. However, I do fear for all the puppies that have
been kicked over all of this.....

Of course it is obvious the phone should've been out by now. Of course we all (even myself) independently confirmed Friday as the date. But I think that with "this latest rock solid date" now passing, I will take a little latitude on being pessimistic.

The best way to express how I feel is with one word: numb. It will be out when it will be out, and sure I can't wait for it to be out (though I really can... I mean I'm waiting, right? lol), and as soon as it comes out I will run to get it, but I'm not putting my dollars (eggs) in any basket until a rep is ready to exchange those dollars for a Nexus. On with my day. Cheers! It's a formidable phone for sure, but hardly a reason to get upset :)

My feeling is that I don't like what is happening with this release, I LOVE IT. I've had the phone for two weeks running on AT&T perfect with no problems at all. The phone is sweet. I'm already anticipating the next big phone to come out so I can unload this one on eBay and buy the next one unlocked as soon as it's released before any of the US carriers officially have it. By that time all you Verizon users will probably still be waiting for the Nexus release.

That's just how I feel, but I don't express what I feel much ... In all honesty I feel bad for Verizon customers. This happens all the time if you follow phone releases. 9 times out of 10 phones come out unlocked for GSM carriers before they ever hit the shelf of a CDMA carrier or even US GSM carrier.

Hate to remind everyone what happened a few years back with the Nexus One. Verizon was suppose to be the exclusive provider of that too ...

My theory is stick with GSM, buy unlocked. Yes you pay more initially, but if the phone is kept in good condition they keep their resale value remarkably. Buy new, sell old and don't let your carrier dictate what phone you use.

Im just downright getting sick of waiting. It started with the bionic wayyyy at the beginning of the year, waited forrreeevvvverrr and then they drop the razor 2 weeks later? **** YOU motorola and verizon. I have never felt so betrayed. Come to find out the razor sucks, what luck! Don't have to ditch it completely, get to give it to my sister. Now I'm back on the droid x, and don't get me wrong its a great phone, but I'm ready for something new and I'm ****ing sick of waiting.

This is how I feel.

How can you NOT feel like a sucker today? If nothing happens on Friday (again) we need to rename these forums the Charlie Brown Forum. Just for Friday as a symbolic gesture.

While I am disappointed, I know it's just a phone and not the end of the world. I will be very excited when it is finally released and I will continue to follow the up and down roller coaster in "the thread of all threads". In the end, I know I will have my Nexus soon and my Razr is performing very well at this time.

I'm about to go insane, I got a text from my bud yesterday saying he reserved me one and I can pick it up friday...today he texts me that it is delayed indefinitely. I'm stuck with this freakin Dinc2 and I hate it (miss my broken Dinc1).

If this has to do with the whole google wallet thing and VZW trying to stop it, that's some messed up ish.

I have a lot of money burning a hole in my pocket right now and this is the only thing I want at the moment so its quite frustrating that it hasn't been released yet or has been delayed.

I think it's about communication. People would not be so pissed if Verizon were to say "Sorry guys, we're having issues with this device, we'll let you have it as soon as we can." Remember, they announced the device a while back and have completely ignored their customers ever since. You realize that they were going to let the announcement go all the way till Friday morning, then just slip out a little press release letting us know it's available? Considering the non-stop flood of hate mail I'm sure they've been getting for days, that fact is staggering. I'm sure they know that we know Friday was the day. I'm sure they know their customers are despondent. And yet we are completely ignored.

I mean, people are doing their Christmas shopping right now, for Christs sake. I'd be nice to know if Johnny is gonna get his Nexus or not.

Also, this is NOT a nerd's device. I'm not sure how you could ever say that. It's the only truly consumer friendly version of Android ever. It's the exact opposite. It's also the best mobile device in the world right now, and it's pretty clear Verizon has no idea what it has on its hands. That alone is pretty annoying. Android 4.0 is HUGE, and in my opinion, is the final nail in the coffin for iOS. Are people not realizing that yet?

I'm on Sprint right now and will be breaking my contract next week. They can either sell me an LTE Nexus, or I'll go to Tmo and import a GSM version.

I realize it and I was an iOS user since June 30, 2007 when the first iPhone was released. Tired several times over the last four years to make the switch to Android but it was never up to par with iOS. Until now. Apple had their chance to compete with this phone but they opted for the 4S and Siri, the most useless feature to ever be placed on a mobile phone. Once that was announced they totally lost me. A loyal iPhone users who wanted desperately to have a phone up to par with the specs of competitor Android phones.

Well I'm not going back. Once you use a phone with a 4.65 inch screen one with a 3.5 inch screen is just a nice paperweight that happens to play music and have wifi.

This is an expensive purchase I made that I am not entirely happy, so its a bit strange. I have been bashing this phone a bit, but its the best phone for T-Mobile users who wants HD res. Here is what I observed:

Galaxy Nexus GSM version: Weaker cpu than the Galaxy Note GSM (without oc'ing involved, even with oc'ing, the Mali gpu in the Note/SII is better). Lower quality camera (I care more 0.about shot quality than speed in this case.) No microSD slot. Only single HSDPA antenna, I achieved 24Mbps with my T-Mobile's SII, which is higher than this phone's limit (21mbps).

Galaxy Nexus Verizon: I don't want to go to Verizon and I intend to use more than one GSM sim cards.

Galaxy Note GSM: Perfect, except no 1700 band, no 3G on T-Mobile.

A bit disappointed by lack of features for its very premium price (especially when a Chinese model will have an Exynos 1.4ghz and pentaband as well for $250 less). I honestly do not care about ICS as Honeycomb never impressed me, it'll be just a nice addition. I just hope the value of this phone won't plummet too much by the time the Galaxy SIII is released.

I feel as if VZW is doing nothing to carry a high end smartphone. Everything that is coming out is junk. What I am feeling is VZW failed by not offering the SGS2. This would have appeased most of us.

iPhone 4S: A minor upgrade to iPhone 4
Bionic: A POS
Razr: Same POS screen with pentile graphics and older processor
Rezound: "Crap by Dre" phone. Anything that has to do with a cRapper is useless on a phone, period.

OK. So you are ruling out this phone because it comes with headphones branded by an artist you don't like.

That's pretty sensible.

Crappy processor too. Plus, I do not like HTC phones in general. There is a reason why they are getting dominated by Apple and Samsung.

Now I'm feeling a little hungry.

Can someone make me a bagel?

I'm certainly frustrated. I'm on a Droid2, and while it's not a bad phone, Gingerbread really messed it up. Reboots randomly, while doing things. Headphone jack consistently messes up and pauses music.

I've been shopping (and had chosen the Nexus) back in October. Here we are approaching mid-December and still no phone.

The reality is I use my phone CONSTANTLY. Work, games, movies, TV shows, music during my workouts. I've been this way since Palm Treo 650 and Windows Mobile 5.0. The galaxy Nexus, with screen size, OS, processor and functionality, have been what I've been waiting for, for a long time now.

With nothing else remotely as functional to me on the horizon, I'm going to continue to wait patiently for the Nexus. Frustated, but patient.

Your reasoning is solid as a rock, you really know your stuff don't you
