well i think it is better to not use an app. what you want to do is to partition your sd card and then use a2sd or dark tremors(depending on the rom) to move the apps to the sd card.

go here:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...-rooting-gingerbread-2-3-5-dummies-guide.html

and go to the 2nd post and find the partitioning section for the info.

yeah but you have to have a rom that either has support for it or have a2sd built in. i never like miui so i do not remember if it has support for it or not. you might have to flash darktremors and then command he apps to the sd card. it is in the guide.

whats a good rom that has jelly bean, and has that a2sd built in, or a room that will support it

to be honest ics and jb roms just feel a bit slower and clunky on the og evo IMO. so i never really flashed many of them. the one that keeps coming up is strike, but that is a ics rom.

just go here:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/618281-list-utilities-apps-roms-kernels-og-evo.html and checkout the staff picks for suggestions. make sure that you read the op for each rom. most of the time it will say if it supports a2sd or not. if the apps do not move automatically, then you can always just flash dark tremors and command the apps to move. if nothing happens then the rom does not support it and you can move on.

I just cannot get this to work, I tried darktremors, but when I try to open the a2sdgui app, it said it could not start due to the fact that: I'm not rooted, a2sd scripts are not found, and no ext partition, I have all of those,I flashed the scripts needed it said followed the steps, I checked root, I definitely partitioned my sd with mini tool, I'm running provision jb tsp jellyvision 1.25.11 (unofficial evo 4g) 4.1.2, mazwoz supersonic 2.6.38.8, what should I use, because I'm either really stupid, or none of these links really tell u what to use with what, and I'm pretty sure I can read, haha, If I can't use jellybean, ill downgrade, but it would be nice if someone had a way for jellybean to work with a2sd, just because I'm using jellybean for my main phone, its just hard to go back and use a lower OS, just in case I can't run certain games or other apps, thats all, but ill try anything or whatever works the best.

with dark tremors, you flash it then you use a terminal command to command the apps onto the sd card. you do not need the a2sdgui app. just command it in.

if it does not work then the rom does not have support for it.

i tried command prompt, it fails, but it changes to a # sign so i kno im root, which rom should i use, because i cant find any that say they support it, i just need spaacceee..ill fall back to gingerbread if need be

mikg3.11 has a2sd cooked in so you should be good with that one.

deck's reloaded has support(it might be cooked in, but i can't remember....LOL)

those are the ones i recommend.....not sure on strike(but it is a good ics rom)

thanks i was actually ready to download it, but im running outta space on my comp, ill try it, once i flash mikg is there anything i need to do after for it to work, like commands

i also have clockwork 6.0 can i use that, i believe im using the touch version now, or does it matter

ok cool, and what ext should i make my second partition, because it seems like everyonr i try doesent work haha

2nd partition? not sure what you mean. if you mean upgrading from ext 2 to ext 3 which is what i recommend.

i have a 16g card so i went with 2g for my partition with 32 for swap.

yea 2nd partition so i can put apps on my sd card, i thought u needed to do that, i dont just want to use the move2sd card i want to put the entire app like dalvik files lib files onto the sd card, i thought you needed a 2nd partition, i have an 8 gig card

i think were talking about 2 diff ways to do this lol, im using mini tool on my computer, i havent done the way thru a recovery yet, if thats the only way i can do it then cool, im using a newer phone, this evo is just for fun, im not familiar with any older phones and how they work, just the newer phones

yea if you use recovery it is the only way, im using mini tool partition wizard program on my computer, to partition my sd card, do i still need to do it thru a recovery, or should i only partition it thru the recovery since its an older phone, i dont know

as long as you partition it to ext 2 and then ext 3 with swap of 32 then you are fine using the program. if those are not the options then you will need to use recovery to create the partition as the roms may not recognize the partition that the computer makes. technically you can even upgrade it to ext 4 but most roms do not have support for it.

ok i understand you now, im putting the mikg on now, so we'll see how it goes

no i dident i figured thats what i full wipe did everything seems to be working good, except for all my payed apps i need to pay for again, why would it do that..

nevermind, the market dident update yet, hah, its all good now, should i boot into recovery and wipe cache and dalvik

you should never have to pay for them again if bought from the play store. do you have titanium backup? you should if not as it will backup your apps and its data and restores them as well. are you signed in with the right gmail account?

and you got lucky, never rely on just superwipe. always wipe manually and then use superwipe.
