Extended Battery for Galaxy Nexus

I am considering purchasing an extended battery for my Galaxy Nexsus but there are many differernt manufactures out there. Does anyone know if the non OEM batteries are comparable the OEM battery? Anyone have any personal experience with different types and how long they extend the life? Thx!

I don't think they are comparable but i recommend you try the Mugen Power extended battery 3900 MAh it's a great improvement ;)

I bought the Anker 3000 mAh battery and cover for around $12.50 from Ebay. The battery works great and adds a ton of life to the unit. Couple of things to consider:

1. Do you want NFC? Many of the batteries don't come with NFC. Some do though.... If it's important to you, just make sure the one you buy has it.

2. The larger the battery, the larger the back cover needs to be. For example, the Samsung/Verizon extended battery and door (which I think is 2100 mAh) is barely noticable size difference and my phone case still fits. However, my 3000 mAh is huge and there is no way my case would fit. But, I just use my 3000 mAh on occasions where I know I'll be away from a charger for the entire day.

As far as the brand goes... unless you see bad reviews I would say they're all probably about the same. Check ebay and amazon for the best deals from what I've seen.

I ended up buying an Onite 3500mAh w/ NFC battery from Amazon for my GSM Nexus. I've only had it a couple of days but it seems pretty good so far. I've been running it since last night (so around 24 hours), moderate usage (including the upgrade to Jellybean), and it is currently at 64%.

The back included with the battery seems solid, it is a smooth looking but rubberized finish. While the back and extra heft of the phone makes it feel more secure in my hand, I'd still like to find a case that works with this battery as the sides are as slippery as ever.

I've not tried NFC, so I don't know if that works with this battery as advertised. My other question is how this battery will hold up. At the moment, though, I'm very pleased with the battery, especially as it was under $13.

I have been using 3 batteries for the past 7 months - bought 2 standard batts and charger on ebay for $12 shipped. I go through a couple a day.

I finally rooted and flashed the AOKP rom and now get much better battery life. I can't believe the difference! And rooting and rom'ing was actually not that hard. There are so many write-ups and videos that I got the job done in about 2 hours (includes the necessary research).

Just thought I'd share.

As I type this:
1day 30min on battery
2hr 35min screen on (auto brightness)
18% remaining
