Root Extended battery opinion.

Hey everyone, I love this Connect, but the battery life is still poop -_- So I started thinking about getting an extended battery. Now I get about 14-16 hours on stock, and I have a case with a kickstand. I thought of two options. I thought about getting a slim extended battery, or a 3850 with a replacement door. I would like to keep my case, and that's why I thought of the slim, but the battery life is only a minimal increase. Now if I got the 3850, I wouldn't have to worry about battery, but I would lose my case and kickstand combo. What do you guys think? And what's the average life in hours of a slim extended vs. a 3850 one?

you will at a minimum double your battery life with the 3850. whether thats worth changing the size of your phone is up to you.

Ok here's my question. What is the largest battery we can get for this thing in a slim / normal form factor?

2450mah, but its mah rating is inaccurate and isnt any better than the 1900mah that is available.

so 1900mah is the best you got.

I went the entire day today without my case, and I was gonna order the 3850. I was gonna do it. Hopped on Amazon, it's unavailable

They come into stock every week. just check back every day as early after 5am Central US (-6 GMT) as you can. I noticed that's the time that they seemed to refresh the stock when I purchased mine. (I literally stocked the amazon page using a macro that refreshed it every ten seconds :P )

The 3850 is definitely worth it, I also have the same case with the small kickstand at the back. I know exactly what you mean but what I found was a nice compromise.

I use my normal battery with case on days that I work and know my phone will be in my pocket most of the day.

Days like today when I'm off and was going on a long trip out of town I charged my 3850 the night before for longer life.

The person who said the 2450 wasnt "accurate" might also just have gotten a bad one. You never know especially with the junk they send out of china. Ill tell you a quick story.

Theres a really good performance part for my car, its really simple and gives good performance. Now the one from a "proper" retailer is almost $300. Check out Ebay and you can get a China knockoff for like $40. I have ordered 4 of these over the course of a couple years, and all of them were perfect except for one, it was missing some markings that made it very difficult to change a particular setting on my car. Shit like that just happens. That guy might have just gotten a bad one. I say go for the 2450. Try two even. Even buying two, if ONE turns out to be close to 2450, thats STILL half or less than what you would pay for one of the factory batteries from LG (and from what I have read, there is STILL a VERY good chance youll get a bad one from them that overheats or doesnt last etc), and EVEN if they BOTH only have somewhere near 1900, thats STILL less than half of factory for better life (30% better which is not too shabby for keeping stock size). Like my car part, even buying 4 of them (which were not all for the same car mind you, just the replacement for the unmarked one), Im STILL $100 less than what I would have paid for a "proper" one. IF you want to wait, Im getting a 1900 in and Im probably going to be ordering a 2450 in sometime soon, so Im going to be reviewing them in the near future.

i actually dont have the 2450mah. im going on what other people have said about the 2450 gold slim. seems like there is a lot of "bad ones" out there.

I'm using a Hyperion 3500 mah, been using it for a little over a month. Its gotten mixed reviews, some people saying after a couple weeks the charge gets weaker, but mine has actually gotten better. I unplug at 6am when I get up for work and have about 30% left at 1130 pm when I plug it in when I go to sleep.

I'm a moderate to heavy user, alot of mp3 and Pandora use. Netflix on both of my 30 minute breaks, some gta3 and plenty of calls/texts/general playing around.

Not bad at all in my opinion and though it makes the phone thicker, I actually prefer it. It makes it easier to hold while texting and gaming for my big hands and has a nice textured back like the stock back.
