extended battery users

I am at 32 hrs and 25 minutes since touching a charger of any kind...and I still have 20% left. This is on 3G though, no 4G in my area yet.

Currently sitting at 1 day 40 min 59% left, been on 4G the whole time. Granted the phone has been idle the majority of that time.

i ordered an extended battery, but on my original battery, I took it off the charger at 5:00 a.m., get to work by 5:30, streamed pandora for about 6 hours and had 50% battery left. This is alot better than my Droid Incredible was. I'm hoping the extended battery will be even better!

Here is a link on motorola's support form. It basically says in order for the extended battery to read and work correctly you need to reset the stats.

dfib,

As far as I can tell, that advice doesn't come from a Moto engineer. Read posts #45 through #50 (on p.4 of the thread). It seems to imply that if the phone is using the proper Moto battery, there's some sort of software interaction whereby it knows what size it is when you initially install it and boot up the phone.

Again, this is easy enough to test. (And maybe I'll try it tonight and tomorrow night.) Let your phone idle overnight with the regular battery and in the morning see what percentage of life is left. Then do the same thing the next night with the extended battery. If there's a lot more life indicated with the extended, it will demonstrate that the phone "knows" on which battery it's running.

I'm at 40% after 10 hours with 4G, wifi and power hogging Bluetooth on the entire time. Moderate use with a couple hours of music playing.

When I received my Extended Battery a couple days ago, I ran it all the way down than charged it to full charge.

This morning, about 7:30am I started using it unplugged. I used it Moderate - Heavy use. It died on me at 3pm today.

That was 4g, lots of surfing, using the Phandroid app, listening to streaming radio off and on, using Trapster (nav) for a short time, and Tweetcaster, obvously email automated checking, Call Blocker, Timerific and Package Tracker running.

i just got the extended batt also. Im not impressed with it very much. Ill try the drain completely then recharge thing today.

I know I'll probably be overclocking at some point in time, and I have tons of apps that run services (about 30 so far) and I'll be a moderate to heavy user...

So I just bought a second extended battery for my phone. The external battery charger I got with the CostCo bundle accommodates the extended battery, so at half price from VZW, makes sense to buy 2 and have a backup / spare that is charged and ready to go when the first one dies.

I was doing this with my OG DROID running CM7 but with regular batteries - and I had to change them out almost every half day. With this, at least for now, maybe I can get the most from my batteries and phone before I have to swap out...

yesterday i was going on to about 15 hours of moderate to heavy usage and was at 25%. Probably more moderate, except for the first couple hours i woke up i was using it a lot.

How long does this battery take to charge fully, i got mine today and have had it connected for over 2 hours and i still have not seen any percentage increase it got to me with 20% charge and at the end of two hours it is still there, do I have a bad battery or is the first charge horrendously slow, i dont want to leave it on all night to find out it is not charged on my way to work in the morning.

My extended battery arrived today. Figured I'd do the drain and recharge as described herein. I installed it at around 1:00 and it was showing 20%. I've done everything I possibly could to accelerate the draining process (GPS, bluetooth and WiFi all enabled, screen set to 100% and no timeout) and it just finally died at 8:10. This should prove interesting.

Turn your screen off. And how are you charging? Computer (aka USB) will charge much slower, versus wall charger.

You'll be amazed...just wait :D

I was using the wall and screen off just when i checked it showed no increase but when i disconnected it it shows it charged

weird. The battery should have been updating.

have you rebooted the phone since? See what it says after reboot.

Report i am going on 11 hours of use i would say moderate to heavy and i have only used 40 percent of the battery life, I am not using LTE because it is not in my area yet. Happy camper here.

Got the extended battery yesterday. It was at 20% when installed in the phone. I ran it completely down which took about 8 hours (screen on at full illumination & set to never timeout, GPS Bluetooth and WiFi all on). It took about 3 hours to completely recharge. I am at 50%, 21 hours later with moderate to heavy usage in a 3G only area.
I am impressed enough with this battery that I'm seriously considering ordering a second one while they are still 50% off.
I think Moto/Verizon should have shipped the phone with this as the standard battery.

I feel the same way these batteries should have been the ones that came with the phone, I am now going on 15 hours and only down to 50% impressive indeed.

I am in 4 g. I turned every possible power consumption app on. With non stop use and mostly watching video and downloads straightafter 4.5 hours i was down to 40%. Then eith normal moderate use for me it went another 4 hours before the red indicatoe kight came on. Thats great. Much better than stock. I haave big hands and i love the feel if the exgended battery. Makes it feel like a solid oiece of hardware. Two thumbs up for me.:D

Do it. Do it now.

I've had the extended battery since day 2 of owning this phone.

LTE I can get about several hours of battery life. LTE still drains fairly quick just having the phone in standby etc. The voltages and frequencies that are used 3g/LTE are not that different according to a friend who's a Verizon Wireless Engineer but they still are having issues with the drain.

On 3G I can make nearly 2 days with moderate use. Also take into account that the first 10-20% of battery drain can go quicker than normal and you may notice the final 30 may last forever. This is normal. When you unplug your phone from a "full charge" it may be at 91%. Maybe it's at 97%. The way these phones work are rapid charges to 90% then a trickle charge up to 100%. Then they stop charging until they go back down to 90. I've heard charging your phone with it powered off guarantees a true 100% charge.

Been using juice defender from day one so no idea if its helping or not. Going on 24 hrs without charge and im at 30% with moderate use and lte half the time. Sure beats my droid 1
