Help Extended Use as GPS

Is there any risk to GS3 from using it as a GPS device for an extended period of time, like 8 to 10 hours? What if it's on the charger pretty much the whole time?

The only thing I would worry about is screen burn-in if you did that every day. On a hot day or if the heat is blowing directly on the phone it could also cause the phone to over heat. Obviously not many people have these problems or we would be hearing more about it. Although I have read about some screen burn-in problems on this forum.

Ok, thanks. I was mainly worried about issues with overheating or damage to the battery.

Yeah if your GPS app has like an image on it that never moves or changes, you could get some ghosting. I remember a while ago samsung allegedly promised to replace affected units :thumbup:
My display is burned in through heavy use, no ghosting, just a general fading everywhere except where the statusbar was.
As for heat, get an app that puts temp in the notification panel like Battery Notifier. As a rule, i switch off when it hits 55
