Extended warranty through Costco?

Just curious if anybody has any experience to share?

I called them up to confirm, and indeed they offer 2 year warranty on any smart phone, even purchased somewhere else. The cost is $99 and deductible is only $25. I believe, you don't even have to send it away, just drop it off at the nearest store.

SquareTrade (w/30% coupon) has it for $95/2yr, and deductible is $100. Costco deal sounds the best, but curious if anybody has any experience dealing with them?

+1 confirmed. Over the phone they told me I can bring my own phone. Went to the store - they told me it only applies to phones purchased in the store. Wasted a trip :(

Costco almost always gives out free cases, car chargers or other accessories with their phones. Price is better than most other retailers too but availability might not be so good. Does Walmart have protection plans for their wireless department? Or do they just sell you the carriers plan?

Do you know that Costco's warranty is the same as SquareTrade's warranty just cheaper. According to Costco Connections, they are using SquareTrade, but with a better deal than ST's normal offering. And you do have to buy the phone at Costco.

This is old thread but I wonder, what if you use Costco Amex, how does it change the game?

For whatever else I buy, it just adds up one more year. I bought dehumifier, juicer and registered for warranty and it added one year automatically to what the manufacturer was offering.
