external backup battery for rezound

Any of you kind folk use and can recommend an external backup battery? I would love to have one. Asked HTC Support and they said they did not recommend it, but it should be ok if I'm sure that it's compatible, but did not provide me with any specs with which to comply. Thoughts?

With the extended battery the phone is like 2" thick. It's ridiculous.

With the stock battery and light use, the phone will only last 12 hours, heavy use and it's under 5 hours.

So those are your choices, ridiculously thick or don't count on making it the day on the stock batt.

After a week or dinking around tweaking battery life I gave up and put the monstrous battery on there.

Phone is great except for battery life.

Actually, with the extended battery and additional case, mine is 7/8", not 2". Slight exaggeration. I had the extended battery in my Thunderbolt and now in the Rezound. I'm not a fan of the new thinner phones and I like the added width, but I've always preferred larger phones that don't slip out of my hand. I like the way the Rezound with the extended battery feels in my hand. People who complain about extended batteries are usually complaining about the look and often haven't even seen one other than a picture.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I wonder if you are asking about an external backup battery. I have three 5000 mAh external batteries made by Trent that I got from Amazon for each of our phones. I keep them charged up mainly for those occasional times in the winter when we have an ice storm that knocks our power out for a week or so, but I also have used it when I was stuck at the hospital for outpatient surgery to power my laptop for a few hours because I wasn't near an outlet.

If that's what you are talking about, Amazon has several brands with different mAh ratings and different configurations, some with 1 USB port and some with 2. Just search for external backup battery. For the Rezound, try to find one with a 1A USB outlet. the 500 mA will work, but it will be slower. Also, external backup batteries are one of those items that you often get what you pay for, so I'd go with a good quality one.

Tekkeon is a nice charger. I have the older one that uses C cell batteries and it worked great on the iPhone because it uses a 500mA charger. It also works on the Rezound, but charges slow. The nice thing about it is that it doesn't need to be recharged, you just pop in 4 more C cells batteries. and it also fits in your pocket.

I have the Duracell Powerhouse and it works fine. Just keep in mind you have to use the OEM USB cable with it. For $17 it does a good job.

have you tried the extended battery? it actually makes the phone fit better in your hand. but im a little bias i guess, i dont get the whole thin trend...heck, give me a thick, sturdy phone with a battery that lasts all day.

Knowing everyone has preferences on their choice of phones and how they are utilized ...... here's my two ( ok...maybe one ) cents worth.....the relative thickness of my beloved Rezound is not an issue for me - the way it fits in my ( big ) hands is great - secure - comfortable ...... form factor I just love and I dislike the thinness of other phones......

Can't accept the thickness of the extended battery .... no matter if the phone is in my shirt, pants, suit or briefcase pocket.......that darn extended battery is just too thick........I carry two Verizon TB cell chargers - about the width and thickness of a pack of gum.....and charge two additional standard batteries at home office, kitchen counter, work office and sometimes even in the car.....easy to toss one into the charger and let it juice up

I have no problem swapping out a standard battery with a freshly charged one - takes about 15 seconds and let's me see that gorgeous red see-through interior - love snapping the back cover back on - what build quality HTC has......

I also keep in the car a solar cell phone charger for trips and as a back up and several times a month will use Mother Nature to charge the phone if I have forgotten an extra battery.

I for one have no problem and actually like carrying around a spare standard battery and swapping batteries out when needed and I just enjoy the phone's native dimensions - just can't seem to accept and enjoy thickness of the extended battery.....( even with all that power.....) one man's random musings on the wonderful Rezound.

now if Seido comes out with a 1800 or > battery but still same size as standard battery.....count me in

I have the extended battery and dont mind it but I only use it on the weekends. I just wish they would have made the back cover smooth like the inc 2's is.

Now onto the Op's thread. I wish they would come out with a battery case for the rezound like the iPhones have, where you charge the case and then put it on.
