I'll go for an enclosure w/ wifi ^_^ Just Kidding but its a great alternative to wirelessly connect you Backup drive with you PC. However, I go for an enclosure just for the simplicity of having a portable copy of files.
Well, you didn't actually say that you were buying it, and the general concensus of advice was to invest in an enclosure anyway. Plus, if it's the one you linked in post #18, the description clearly states that it supports both 2.5" and 3.5" drives. As it should.... SATA is a standardised interface.
would the difference between USB2 and USB 3 be big at all?
If your mainboard supports USB 3.0 then it's a false economy to restrict it with USB 2.0; the theoretical maximum throughput of 5Gbps is 10x the 480Mbps of USB 2.0.
