Help External keyboard Note 10.1 (N8020)

Which external keyboard can I use my Samsung Note 10.1 ( N8020 )?

Are there keyboard for both bluetooth and cable?
 
All Bluetooth keyboards are compatible. All USB keyboards are compatible as long as you have a USB adapter.
 
I had a Logitech keyboard that was replaced under warranty. The replacement I received was for Apple, not Android. The Apple keyboard does not support tab and similar functions on Android.

But the keyboard itself worked just fine? So it WAS compatible, just the extra function buttons were not as you bought something for a specific line of products and not a generic one.
 
Typing possible. One purchases a keyboard that fully supports the device operating system. Some do (compatible) and some do not (not compatible.

You should not expect ANY keyboard functions that are built specifically for Apple to work on ANY other device. It is that simple.

Keyboard as a device works and all standard keys work, only the BS added for Apple does not, no surprise as it will not work on other OSs either. Not Android incompatibility, but Apple incompatibility.
 
Sounds like you are preaching to me. The statement I made was to check for compatibility. The original keyboard I purchased was Android compatible. The replacement keyboard sent by mistake by Logitech was Apple compatible. When one thinks of compatible functionality, the thought is that all functions are supported, nothing more and nothing less.
 
If you buy a steering wheel for a Ford does it mean it will be compatible with a Fiat only because it is called the same and has the same main purpose?
 
I have been searching for a good keyboard/case combo but am reluctant to purchase online since you can't look at it and feel it to KNOW what you are getting.

My daughter got a GREAT combo from BestBuys for her Tab 3 10.1; feels solid, double shift keys, Tab key, media keys.....AND it automatically prevents the touchscreen keyboard from popping up. Unfortunately they don't make a version of it for the Note 10.1.....and since it is actually produce by BestBuys there is no chance they are going to make one.

I KNOW the keyboard would work with the Note......but the case won't.

Supposed to receive my Note 10.1 today...
Have read thru the forum here and not found a lot of 'recent' advice on these.
Seems to only be 3 or so fitting this bill on amazon.
(and I think a lot of the vendors themselves don't know what they have/what fits what they have..kind of Samsungs fault for how they name their products so similarly).
I was also going to make a new post asking for 'up to date' advice on everything for a newb, (Root right now, or wait, [since the update is coming hopefully], accessories, best/most useful/gotta' have apps, accessories ect)
Just hesitant, because I don't want to upset 'the balance'/ask something that was answered last year, in the 30th page of threads, with dead links/old info..
(I have searched/read here for hours)

I figure this thing is probably about to be considered obsolete (because I can finally afford to buy one) by the most knowledgeable, and they'll be moving on to something else...just want to ask before they take their knowledge they've built with them...what do you think?

If anyone reading this wants to just PM me their opinions, that'll be fine..
Just thought a 'new' thread might be nice and searchable/accessible/more current for others just getting into one of these. (the refurbs on-line at wallyworld are nicely priced)
