External Mic on the Fire...

Check this out - I have a set of stereo headphones with an in-line microphone. I plugged it into the Fire, then downloaded and installed an audio recording app and tried it. It works!
That means Skype and other apps requiring a microphone can work on the Fire, with the proper hardware...

Stereo headphones with inline mics have a 4-conductor plug (called a TRRS) as opposed to a normal 3-conductor stereo headphone plug (a TRS). As long as it has a TRRS plug, it will work - and all stereo headphone/mic combos do have that type of plug.

If you plug that in the headphone jack the speakers will cut off, right?
So you'd have to remove the mic to hear the other end?
