External OTG USB Monitor for Galaxy Note 3

Hello,

I'd like to buy the product:
ASUS MB168B+ ● 15,6" Full HD Monitor ● USB 3.0 ● 1920x1080 Resolution

I'd like to connect it via USB OTG to my "Galaxy Note 3" which supports USB OTG and can read other devices as external harddrives etc.

Is the MB168B+ able to use with USB OTG?

Thank you.

Regards
fluorescein

The OTG Usb adapter lets you use USB devices with your Note 3, like a USB keyboard/mouse or USB hard drive. I have a 1TB Hard drive and my N3 reads it without issues; it does take forever, but it works.

Now mirroring your N3 to a screen is a different matter. I have both the Samsung MHL (HDMI Out) adapter and the Samsung AllShare Case, both work great to show my screen on my TV and/or PC monitor. I have also heard rumors that the Chromecast adapter will also allow this, but I have not tried it.

Hi James,

thank you for your comment!

I contacted ASUS in Livechat. They confirmed me that this monitor will
a) work via USB OTG to the N3
b) work parallel with an USB-Hub (4 Hubs) with 2.4 GHz Sender for Mouse and Keyboard
c) be able to be power-supplied with an external rechargeable battery

Thank you!

So would I be able to use a OTG hub to hook the MB168B monitor, a usb mouse and keyboard directly into the note?

I know this is a very old thread, but does anyone know if this set up works? I am desperate to find a monitor AND mouse to work at the same time using an on the go hub.

so far the only usb monitors I have found need drivers installed or an app installed to work, but I dont have the ability to add anything since my screen and digitizer are broken.

and, of course, hdmi otg monitors will not work with a usb mouse, the android can only handle one type of input at a time, hdmi or usb.
