External portable chargers

i mentioned earlier in this thread i also picked up the incredicharge 1100mah unit. it has charged everything ive plugged into it. BT phones, lte evo, ps vita. charges the phone using AC charging and not USB charging (included charge cable) swiftly. recommended for sure.

I have the same unit but it does not seem to charge my PS Vita - some particular setting on the Vita that needs to be done? I have the Vita turned off and nothing happens (using the original PS Vita USB charge cable that came with the unit) and also with the PS Vita on. The red light on the INCREDICARGE stays solid and doesn't blink. Any help would be appreciated.

PS Vita may be OT in this thread ;)
... and people with PS knowledge are in PS forums :)

So, what I think, is that the PS might charge with the Incredicarge as slowly as charging on PC's USB.

Curious who's running what and what's working. Most of what I'm finding via Google searches is larger devices aimed at laptops instead of smaller more portable units geared more towards cell phone use. So far battery life has been decent but I had three batteries I swapped out on my OG Evo so I have a feeling that when I get a little more busy I will be testing the capacity on this battery too. Not to mention after a year or so this battery won't be at the capacity it currently is so I'm just curious who's using what and why.

Discuss. :smokingsomb:

I like my Anker and it's only a 3300 I think but it was cheap and works. I was out of town over the weekend and didn't even have to use it my phone did good at this concert taking pictures and texting and uploading a couple pics.

Those of you that were considering getting the Anker, just saw that Daily Steals has a deal for $39.99+cost of shipping (deal ends at 859pm PST, tonight, 7/2/12):

Hello everyone,

I am considering getting a used version of this phone for my girlfriend, and I am currently deciding between this and the Galaxy S3 (with the GS3 being significantly more expensive).

For the most part, the phones are pretty similar, but one sticking point is the ability to use qi charging. I have a qi mat already, and know where to buy the qi receivers that go directly on the battery (eBay).

The only issue is whether I can have the receiver work with the Evo 4g lte. I don't mind opening the back up and applying the receiver (as it's already a refurb phone), but would it work if I did that?

As I've never seen the phone in person, I really have no way of telling, but I assume someone here has tried it before. Let me know what y'all think. Thank you.

anything is possible, but it will require a lot of modifications just for this feature.

the antennas are up under the back if I recall, and the internals are so cramped.

you can go to youtube and search for "repair htc evo 4g lte" or something similar and find videos of the unit being taken apart. this could give you an idea if its worth the hassle.

perhaps someone on youtube has also attempted this.

You are not the only person to think about this, but due to the phone having an internal battery, most don't want to mod, and with this phone being obsolete, there will be little if any support from the manufacturers of these types of accessories.

Look into phones with removable batteries for more support.
