Help External SD card - basic access (newbie)

Tex Gore

Lurker
Hi,

I am completely new to tablets and Android. I've got a Tab 2 running Android 4.1.1. I've installed a 64Gb SD card, and although I can see the card from 'files' and other applications, I cannot save anything to it, or even create a directory. I'm not trying to move Apps - just save stuff. When I try and create a directory I get 'access denied'. The card doesn't have one of those little switches on it and I have no idea how to set permissions or whatever - can anyone help?

Thanks in advance

TG

According to Samsung's website the Tab 2 only supports SD cards up to 32GB so that may be your problem HOWEVER!! I have read that if you convert the card file system to FAT32, it may work, so you'll need to use your PC first of all. Just right click on the card and hit format.
