External speakers not working

Recently was given an Android ZTE ZMAX and the speaker was working fine until it restarted in my back pocket now no noise can be heard from the speaker itself but the sound appears in earphones and other audio speakers. It was taken out of a pretty sizeable amount of snow but I put it in rice for the required amount of time and every thing else on the phone seems to work just fine just the audio. This is a problem I have also had with a previous galaxy s2 and I know that this is common with Android phones. The only difference in my case is that the back of the phone cannot be taken off manually. I also don't have much money to get this fixed. Please help!!! This is a quality phone and it would be a shame if I couldn't properly use it anymore. Thanks!

im having the same issue; this is the second time. The first time it lasted for a an hour or so and just came on again by itself. This time it's been all day. I rebooted it and nothing. I tried turning it off for a while and that didn't work. This isn't an issue where the phone got wet; it just does it. Help please

I hit the side power button to make the menu pop us asking if I wanted to restart it or turn it off. instead of turning off the phone I hit the mute button. Then pressed the power button again and unmuted it and it worked.

This should help, sometimes the zte max pro Bluetooth will get stuck on a Bluetooth device that you are no longer using. I was looking at a video and no sound was coming out. I look at my Bluetooth and it was still connected to my car but my car is no where near my phone. Just turn it off and your good. Good phone for the price, but the Bluetooth is not to good, drops and glitches a lot.

I have had this problem several times on different devices, I found the problem tended to happen when I was playing audio through headphones whilst the phone was charging, I checked, reset etc but nothing happened, I then plugged the phone back in and tried the volume button and hey presto its back to normal. I thinks its a software glich where the phone gets confused when the USB is sometimes pulled out unexpectedly as reconnecting the cord and pressing volume reinstates its 'memory'

Worth a try if all else fails but try this before factory resetting so you don't lose all your stuff

Good luck

My dad grabbed my phone and he had to reach for it, so when he pulled his arm back to him, he didn't know it was on the charger, so it got yanked off, then he dropped it. xD
