I have been advised to try this:
You could try an external USB wifi dongle, any with a RT3070 chipset should work, Edimax EW-7711UAN for example, plug it in, switch the physical wifi switch off, switch the tablet on and select wifi enabled.....

Here is a link to above advise: Android Forums - View Single Post - General SuperPad III's

Could anyone confirm that an external USB Wifi dongle works on this device:
W1660 10 inch tablet PC Android 2.2 MID Flytouch 3 Super PAD 2 Infotmic ARM11 1Ghz CPU 512 RAM GPS HDMI support 1080P
This is a link to where I bought it: Wholesale Product Snapshot Product name is W1660 Flytouch 3 10 inch tablet PC Android 2.2 GPS MID Super PAD 2 Infotmic ARM11 1Ghz CPU 512 RAM GPS HDMI support 1080P

- Rooted with this firmware (...to test if it would fix my wifi problem):
SuperPad2 Flytouch3 Hybrid Tim Rom

Model number: DISCO10
Android Version: 2.2-20110529
Kernel version: 2.6.32.9
zjd@dtlinuxserver #29
Version: FRF85B

All my unsuccessful and sad struggles with SmartQ 10 and Flytouch 3 pads are collected here: http://tinyurl.com/Go-and-Get-Paddie-With-Me

Any advice is very much appreciated.

The advert claims it's a flytouch 3/ superpad2, it has been flashed with one of Tim's firmwares. The external USB dongle quoted to you will work on such a device PROVIDING the fault you have on your tablet is entirely down to the internal dongle being faulty and there being nothing else wrong with the system board & USB in your tablet. The internal wifi module is after all , what apears to be a stripped out usb wifi dongle hard wired to an internal usb connection.

Good, I've now ordered an Edimax EW-7711UAN Wifi dongle and I will post the result here.

If this is the wrong thread for this question please excuse me, I am running this brain in for a moron.

I am new to Android and I have one of the above, the trouble I have is with the wifi, it will only connect for a minute of two and when it drops it not only loses connection but screws up the wifi altogether, and I invariably have to reboot the router to get it working again. Is this a common problem? I have a feeling that maybe the wifi setting may be for the wrong country as it is about the only thing that I can think of that would cause a similar problem. I have looked to see if there is a setting that I can check or change but no joy yet. Can anyone help me please?
