extra battery question for trip

I will be in NYC next week and plan on using Google maps and HopStop quite a bit. Since I will be using GPS heavily am pretty sure the battery won't last as long as it normally does when I am putzing about my small town. (not to mention I will actually have 4G! what a concept!) Anyway..would you recommend buying the extended battery which presents a case issue or a spare (or two) stock batteries? Bear in mind, I don't need this extra power normally so I am looking for the best combo of economy and application.

Thanks in advance!

I would use my mobile charger 'JustMobile Gum Pro', 4400mAh battery capacity and 120 grams light.

It charge my phone two times.

Thanks!! That's a pretty cool little thing to be sure but it looks like it has to be charged through a laptop? I'm not planning on taking a computer on this trip..that's why I have a smartphone. ;)

You can charge the JustMobile with your phone's wall charger :)
Its input and its output is 5V USB standard.

Ah cool. Thanks! it looks like it will be small enough to slip into my purse too! That was my concern that my battery would die while we were out and about, this will solve the problem. Thanks again.

I would just buy the extended battery & case (if needed). It may add a slightly bigger feel but it is real easy to get used too and you will have power all day long with no worries. pics, video, nav, phone, no worries.

Also the way the battery sticks out a bit makes it real comfortable in the hand and helps when using only one hand to operate the phone. Really should look into it...

The external battery for charging is a versatile solution and can be used with other devices you may have now or in the future.

Yes they are good but its also another thing to carry and charge when it needs it plus the initial cost>

the extended battery is $25 at verizon and no extra things to carry. Also My phone have everything on and running and no issues with battery

i use the cheaper ebay 1600m batteries, if you buy two you can get it with a wall charger for cheaper, that way you can always have one charging

I think my extended battery is dying. Not even getting 8 hours out of it when I used to get 12. Is there a way to check to see if it is my battery or a phone issue?

Most likely a battery issue but I tend to believe it may be an app or 2 that may constantly be running or screen brightness set to 100 or just very high. Not that common for a battery issue to be a phone issue.

Try another battery and see if you get the same results or even try the stock battery it came with and see if that gives you normal usage time..
