Root Extreme Noob! Please help!

I'm a noob to this forum and an EXTREME noob to rooting. I have never once done it. My upgrade is next Wednesday and of course, I plan on buying the HTC Droid Incredible 2. When I get it, first thing I plan on doing is rooting it. I've been doing some research and have found a lot of info, but still not exactly sure. How do I go about rooting it? Like step-by-step instructions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you don't mind me asking - if you've never rooted an Android device before, why are you set on rooting this one as soon as you get it? What are you expecting to do with it that requires root?
I know it's really none of my business; I'm just curious...

I want admin access to remove the bloatware, turn it into a wireless hotspot, etc, etc.

There are workarounds for both of those issues without rooting, but suit yourself. Read up as much as you can here on these forums, and good luck!
