Help Extremely annoying adverts how to remove

chrisssj2

Newbie
I am not talking about Browser ads I dont care for those. Im talking about the ads that keep popping up every few hours making my phone buzz and ring and gather in the notifciations @ top bar.

I have to clear them every time and I get them like 5x a day for example if not more.

Also there are occasionly shortcuts installed on my "dekstop" and I have to manually remove these. They are actually short cuts to buy this and that bullshit games/apps.

I tried some adblockers but they dont block this!!!

How can I truly block these MOFO apps cuz its TRULY aggrevating me.

Thanks a million.

Install AirPush Detector to find out which apps are generating the notifications, then delete the offenders.

edit: wot IA sed. Bloomin' ninja! :)

:aetsch:

3 years I've waited to ninja Slug! ;)

As I have your attention Slug, old boy... something I've been meaning to ask for ages.... how do you strike through a word or sentence in a post, as you have done?

Great thanks! I will try this. If it works IM SUPER GLAD. I also installed kaspersky antivirus to make sure these things keep away.

Also as to the shortcuts that are installed on my dekstop does that app notice it too? or if not how can I found out where it is coming from? thanks again!

In your notification tray tap and hold the rogue notification it will come up with an "App info" box tap this and it let's you know what app is creating the notification. Then uninstall it. Don't try and unistall 'Network' though for obvious reasons. Just make sure notifications are unchecked. I have to admit that I'm not sure tapping and holding works on the SGSII, however go to settings>applications>network and stop notifications there.

Can we do it as per apps, I obviously want to receive alert when I receive whats app message, skype message, but do not want other app's notification which is really annoying.

With Jelly Bean you'd able to do it like dynomot said.
Is not you'd try the app Notification History, it logs the apps and their notifactions and should be able to disable them.
