Extremely Slow Internal Memory/SD Card

Has anyone else noticed that the internal memory is extremely slow on their captivate? I recently revised all of the tags and filenames in my music library and am transferring all of my music back to my internal memory and sd card. Both of which I usually keep 90% full, with 90% of my data being music. It takes me about 4-5 minutes to transfer 1 album that is about 150mb. When I go to "more details" on the file copying window, it says about 600 KB/second. When I transfer files to my 16gb sd card, it usually says about 4 MB/second. Is it normal for the internal memory to be this slow and is there anything I can do to speed it up? There's plenty of free space on my phone right now so that's not the problem.

The RFS file system Samsung is addicted to is notorious for being slow. It's a main culprit of the "lag" issues commonly complained about on the Captivate.
