Help F3 (not rooted) stuck on boot screen

Ok, I searched the forum and didn't find anything related to my issue.

I have Optimus F3 (LGVM720) and it is not rooted. Today, it just got stuck on boot screen - not sure why cause it worked just a few hours ago. I have found out how to do a factory reset, but I was hoping someone could help me before that since I have stuff on my phone I'd like to save.

When plugged in the battery indicator comes on and shows full.
When I unplug and turn on it gets stuck at virgin mobile boot screen and the home button flashes different colors.

I've tried several button press combinations (found factory reset) but nothing seems to work. Can't seem to find a way into safe mode from power off.

I would really appreciate your help. I'm not very good with tech so my husband suggested this forum.

Plug it into a pc and see if the pc sees it when it does turn on.

You may be able to restore stock firmware to factory but im not sure if you can pull the data partition without adb.

The pc tries to install "lge android mtp device" drives and fails. I installed the drivers from here before posting: LG LGVM720 Support: Find Manuals & Warranty Info | LG USA

Powered on and stuck at VM screen, I connected & the pc seems to recognize a device is attached (can see in device mgr) but no drive/device in My Computer.

I just reinstalled those drivers and Device Manager now sees it as working properly. But I see no way to access it.

Oh, it just now changed to 'device cannot start (Code 10)

This seems to be a common issue. Same thing's happening to me. Factory Reset didn't help. Not sure if there's a fix for this...

I was actually trying to avoid a factory reset but couldn't. Eventually I did it and the device works properly (albeit I lost all my data). My partner had problems rooting and was able to get a warranty replacement. Maybe you could try that route? He told them he was attempting root but they didn't seem to care. Just sent out a replacement.

Hey thanks for the reply. I found this walk-through and went through it... seems to have worked. I prefer doing it myself if I can; now I won't have to sit on the phone with someone I can't understand for 2 hours of my life. I'm way past the 45 day warranty so I didn't think they'd replace it. Maybe they would have....

Virgin Mobile actually warranties their phones for a year. After the first 14 days they'll probably send you a refurbished device, but they're really good about replacing phones and ask few questions.
