Hi, just got the phone, and going through setup. In Settings>Security>Screen lock, I do NOT have a Face Unlock option. What's up with that? Anyone else?

Not sure why yours is not there :( Did you go into screen lock screen options and open it? Face lock and other options are in screen lock on my LTEVO. You can also try typing it in the google search bar and see if it shows up at the bottom as a app on your phone? Hope that helps ;)

Thanks for the quick reply. It was not in the list. After some thought, unrooted and flashed the stock RUU, and it was there. I am thinking maybe it had something to do with TBU when I migrated from my EVO 4G on Synergy?

In the process of re-rooting now.

EDIT: After re-rooting, it is gone again!

Oh, didn't know you had rooted your LTEVO. ROFL, face lock gets 86'd instantly if rooted. You will have to do some research, but recall its a security glitch. Something to do with in case the phone gets stolen they won't be able to by pass it via root. I am going off memory here  Have you tried getting face lock apk after rooting? Not much of a flash/root guru but maybe on LTEVO root thread might be some gurus ;) LTEVO is still young but popular :D . I would think devs are chomping at the bit to tweak LTEVO.

I would hang tight if you can't find a work around. I am sure one is not far off :)

Seems like a snafu to me.
I don't understand, google has been all about unlocked phones from the beginning, why would they start integrating stock only features / apps?
I understand the principle as to why they did it this way, I don't understand why they didn't figure it out properly for root users too.

You should be able to log in with your google account and stuff like that just getts working. Seems simple enough, but who am I? Not a developer by a long shot!! :D

Eh, I'm over it....lol. Went back to stock, locked & non-rooted for now. :o
Going to mess around with it this way at least until my 14 day return is expired.

Odd, I've done both the 1-click root method and the Windows exe root method and the facial recognition unlock is still there for me

Nevermind, just tried it and though it did let me configure it, it just closes when it attempts the face detection

I guess not a big deal to lose it. After playing with it a few days it is kind of a PITA. Still requires you to slide the unlock ring, and doesn't work well in low light, which is distracting to unlock while driving at night.

Possibly back to root this weekend! I sure miss a few features and apps that were on my rooted OG EVO.

Don't worry, those features you loved will be back soon. The fun is just getting started! :)

Yeah in the same boat. I have the option for face unlock but it never gives me the option to click the picture when my face is in the circle.

Not a deal breaker for me as I really prefer the quick settings in the pull down over a facial unlock option.

After having a phone rooted with lots of tweaks I couldn't go back to stock. I had hoped that Sense 4 would have added stuff but the Dev's do a great job of giving us options.

There are a couple apps in the Play Store you can use, I think. I had a face unlock that got rid of the ring and everything on my OG Evo. I don't remember what it was called though. :-(

I set up my facial recognition before rooting. I have noticed that about 10% of the time it doesn't initialize and goes right to my pattern.

Odd.
