Help Facebook and Eris

Is anyone else having problems connecting to Facebook on their Eris?

Since yesterday (November 14, 2012) I haven't been able to connect. It just stays on loading.

Chimpie, there probably aren't many people on the Eris these days. Mine is still in a drawer - I will turn it on a bit later on today and see if Facebook is an issue.

Just to ask these questions: is this the official Facebook app? Are you running a stock Eris, or is it rooted? If it is rooted, does it have a custom ROM installed and, if so, which ROM is it?

There have been times in the past when the Facebook app stopped working and then suddenly started up again. In the meantime, one thing to try is to uninstall and reinstall the app and see if it then starts working. (Or, you can try this: from home, settings->applications->Manage applications. Allow the list to refresh - it usually takes about a minute. Find the Facebook app, tap it, and tap the button "clear cache". See if that helps as well.)

Yep, still running a stock Eris. Never rooted it.

Thanks for the suggestion of clearing the cache. I'll let you know how it turns out.
 
I just tried it. It took a long time to refresh, but it did finally load (I did see an error message with a tap to retry message.)

If the app still doesn't work, you can try the Friendcaster app for Facebook. I just checked that as well and it also worked.
