facebook app: am I missing something?

Get the &%#@ outta here - you're right! Look at that - I write a thread bitching that an app can't do something - and the very next day they add that feature!

Hmmm....let me think of something else I'd like to see added....

The ability to see private profiles. ;)
 
They fixed the thing that bugged me the most! Tapping pictures in the news feed now loads in the internal viewer, and there is multi-touch! (if running the 2.1 update). SWEET!
 
Sorry to dust off a fairly old thread, but unless I'm doing something wrong, the Notifications area still doesn't work well. The main thing it's missing for me is Friend Requests. Really the only thing I get in the Notifications area are status comments.
 
I actually use a combo of bloo and facebook for android. I use bloo for notifications (doesn't push from android app) and facebook for android for comments. I have trouble with bloo viewing notifications. It tells me I am not friends with this person. I get a notification but I use the android app for viewing it. Combine the two apps and add friend requests and you got yourself a good app...
 
After I upgraded to 2.1 the facebook app didn't have an inbox but once I upgraded the app I have an inbox again. I just go there and am able to read my messages and send new ones. On 1.5 I used to get FB notifications of updates which I no longer get...is anyone getting these on 2.1? I do get notifications of messages but only when I open FB or the FB app.
 
It's discouraging that this app continues to be neglected. It's probably one of the most used services on our phones. Is it too much to ask to get an app similar to Blackberry or iPhone? I would be willing to pay for something that would push notifications for wall posts & comments.

I've been patient because I know Android is growing faster than ever, but when I see other apps progressing nicely, this one is just plain lacking.
 
I think we should petition Verizon Google (whoever is responsible for making Facebook a stock app with android) to have it removed. Atleast as a system app. Make it an otional download from the market.

I agree, that somehow, the users need to do something. This has gone on far too long. It's at the point of making me angry and could be a deal breaker on my next phone. I use FB for a lot of things.

For people who are happy with our FB app, I truly am happy for you, but you should get a whiff of the other FB apps, and you may not feel the same.
 
My Facebook app has an inbox that I can read and write personal messages. It didn't used to but has for a while. I uninstalled Bloo because the Facebook app does everything I need it to now,
