facebook app and wireless settings

[Warrior 3000]

ok so ever since i got my hero i never used any sort of facebook app. normally when i wanna check my facebook i turn on my mobile network and i go to facebook.com using the internet. People using Iphones facebook is like on 24/7 for them. they get facebook notifications to their phones and such. is there a facebook app for the hero that that does and such, and would i need to keep my mobile network on 24/ in order to get the notifications?

The facebook app in the market does notifications, I would assume you need to be connected to the network to receive them (not sure) but you can also set up to receive facebook notifications through SMS if you don't want to download the app.
