Help Facebook app not working

The past couple of days, when I try to open Facebook I just get a black screen. Anyone else having this problem?

I haven't had the problem, but my first guess would be to uninstall and reinstall it.

I was having the same problem uninstalled and reinstalled. Works now.

Had the problem a couple of times, went into apps in settings and cleared data and reopened app and was good to go.

I recommend Friendcaster anyways. Its better than the official Facebook app IMO.


You could also just go to FB using your browser.

+1 it's much better, esp. on tablet but transfers well to phones. Allows multiple accounts and better control of groups, amongst other things.

However, you may miss news feed items. I use to use it before FB improved their application, but found that depending on your friend's privacy settings, you may not see anything from them as Friendcaster is not an official FB app.

the old FB app 1.5.1 worked great, newest version is horrible.

I wish there was a way to get that one again

Had this issue today and it ended up keeping my phone awake almost 6 hours eating my battery before I realized it. I uninstalled it anyway, I hate the Facebook app. It's awful in my opnion, I prefer friend caster or browser version.

+1. I had the same issue with Friendcaster. Liked the interface but hated that I missed items in the feed.

The Facebook app is truly awful. They put all their effort into the iOS version.

Yeah I think all the apps put more effort in their iOS versions. Android is just lagging behind in the App-Quality space. And with the new Google+, the friction between Google & Facebook has only increased.

Let's see how long does Facebook ignore Google till they have to make a better app for Android.

I have the same problem on tab 3 samsung but can't fix it by reinstalling it or cleaning settings apps
