Facebook App still sucks

I have a Droid RazrMAXX, bought a year and a half ago.

I like the new system update that just came in, but the Facebook App is still horrible. Whenever you scroll down the page, it automatically jumps back up to the top for a good while until it finally settles down.

In addition, the field to enter a message always buries itself under the keypad, and the first letter of the new message never defaults to a capital, as most all other Droid apps do.

Has anyone else posted about this?

Thank you,
Gary Stockdale

The facebook app is about half a breath away from being deleted on my phone - and probably for good this time. (NOTE: I am one version back in the app as I don't trust the permissions of the current version released the day Home released.)

This morning I heard my phone vibrate and I somehow someway I knew. I went straight to the facebook app and in settings everything was magically reset to facebook's favor:

- Chat availability was turned on (NEVER has it been turned on)
- Messenger location was turned on (NEVER has it been turned on)
- Everything possible under notifications was checked (Notifications, vibrate, phone LED, wall posts, etc.) even though I set only half of them to on usually.

This has not happened in a long time, but certainly happened 2-5 times in the past.

A company that has a history of trust issues sure doesn't seem to give a rip sometimes.

The caps things annoys me, its facebook and Good (corporate e-mail app), both appear to be developed on the iphad then ported over to android so they get Apple's crummy auto correct library instead of using the Android one.

Ive never had that problem with capitals. SwiftKey X keyboard has an option to force capitalization at the start of each sentence so it's probably that.

I don't use the official Facebook program I use Friendcaster. It stays off when I want it to and never drains battery.

I don't know if the problems with the app have anything to do with your phone specifically or the update you received. From my experience, the Facebook app just sucks.

The old version I had a long time ago on my OG Droid worked fine, but after all the updates it still seems to run slow, stays active in the background no matter what settings I change, and takes up space. I've given it a couple tries after Zuck supposedly had his people try the Android version so they could see how bad it was and fix it but every time I end up going back to just using the mobile site.

I suggest you do the same, unless its a system app on your phone and you're not rooted. But even then you can uninstall all updates and disable it.

All of this happened AGAIN today!!!! That is twice in a week!

Give me an excuse facebook. Give me an excuse!

This to my knowledge has happened I think five times. About 2-3 times over a month or two more than 3-4 months ago. And now twice this week.

First of all, facebook has never been trustworthy, so why would they do this?

Second of all, facebook is dumb. If they go behind my back and turn on chat, photo sync, location and all notifications EXCEPT for vibration - I would probably not notice for months.

Is SwiftKey anything like "Swype" (which I love)?
