Help Facebook apps are a mess

Is it just me or are ALL the Facebook apps (including the ones pre-installed) are crappy? I've tried them all so maybe I'm just too picky. I have found that just bookmarking the original FB site and then creating a widget works best.

Have you tried just bookmarking the full original site? I noticed that, while still obviously small, on the X it seems more like the real deal. Come to think of it, looking at everything on that wonderful screen is a pleasure. Come on Froyo, let's get it done!

I still haven't found a way to upload existing photos to Facebook from the X. When you click on the camera icon in the app, it opens the camera for you to take a picture. No option to 'choose existing'.

Also, if you use the full original site via the browser, it says that photo uploads are disabled.

Go into your gallery. Pick the picture you want to upload. Click the Menu hard key (left most), go to Share. You can also set up quick upload to go directly to facebook with one click.

From what I know, they're working on an updated Facebook app for Android.

I feel your pain bro. I have to use like 3 apps. I use bloo so I get notified on comment replies the normal one when I use the the widget, and the site for pictures.

Bloo won't let you go to the picture or post it always gives an error, but at least you know to check it.

Out of all the things on my iphone i miss, Facebook app is on top.

There are a couple more, you just have to find one that works for you. Bloo has also started to include prep work for FB chat in a future version last I heard.

The biggest problem I'm having is setting up a facebook account brings over all your friends and you don't have any choice in that I can tell. With twitter, you get asked if you want to bring your contacts over. On my Droid, I used the account just to bring in the pictures of folks into my contacts.

I don't want all these friends as contacts. And it will not let me delete it unless I delete the friend from facebook.

Somone tell me I'm overlooking something very simple here?

This is exactly why I don't use the built in app, I download the FB app from the market. Same for twitter. GTFO my contacts.
