Help Facebook Connection Error

Hi

I've had my Galaxy S2 for a couple of weeks now with no problems.

Today when I access mobile Facebook the home page loads but then quickly disappears with the message 'connection error, try again' on the screen. Trying again continuously fails also. I can access the desktop version though.

Recently I have installed 'McAfee Mobile Security' and I am not sure if that could be a cause as Facebook was working immediately after the installation of McAfee.

I don't use the Facebook app just a bookmark on the home screen.

Adobe AIR did an update prior to the connection error but again, I do not know if this could be a cause.

Would anyone be able to shed any light on this please?

I had a similar issue, so I uninstalled facebook and reinstalled it from the market. Problem solved. Let me know if that helps ;)

Thank you very much retrorom but unfortunately this did not solve the problem.

I can access Facebook from Social Hub also I have discovered so it's very confusing as to why I cannot access the mobile site.

that is strange. have u tried it on wifi and 3G? are u living in a country where facebook is blocked? (have to ask, coz i do. lol) its even stranger that it works via social hub and not on the android app. did u go to settings/applications and clear data for the facebook app? that might help

Thank you for your reply heshanj. I mostly do use wifi but whatever the connection it does not make any difference regarding Facebook unfortunately.

Facebook is not blocked in my country, sorry to to hear that it is in yours.

Social Hub's version of Facebook is very limited as it only runs the feeds and messages, nothing else is accessible so that might be why it is able to run (?).

I did clear off all the data; cache, cookies etc but still no difference.

Very baffling!

Yep, same issue here, whether on wifi, edge or 3g. Same thing seems to happen if I try and load the profile on the browser (mobile version).
