Help Facebook has taken over my EVO

Texas Cop

Newbie
Hello ladies and gentleman. It seems that this morning, Facebook hacked my EVO. Let me explain... when I woke up this morning, all my ringtones were gone as well as my notifications. I attempted to change things back to the way they were when I went to sleep last night but no luck. No options to change anything. I go into the phone ringtones tab and all I see is ok or cancel. No option to change anything. Its the same way with notifications. When my phone rings now, it plays some girlie wedding march thing (my wife told me what it was). Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated. John

Umm don't think Facebook could or would hack your phone but giving you the benefit of doubt hit Menu then Settings then Sound then Phone Ringtone. Or notification sound etc. Any chance you downloaded some Ringtone App or something? What makes you think it is Facebook?

I haven't downloaded an app in weeks however when I woke up yesterday my phone was changed. I'm not implying the actual Facebook website changed my phone settings but simply meant the only things I can select are named something to do with Facebook. I have tried changing the ringtone thru the normal settings. When I go into the tab the only option showing is either ok or cancel. The notification "chime" is something about Facebook as well. Today, I will call my local Sprint Repair Center and see what the hell is going on.

I'm not sure if this matters, but when you were looking was your phone plugged into a port or not?

Have you pulled the battery?

Wow very strange. Possibly some sort of SD card issue or OS corruption. You can always back up your contacts and do a Hard Reset to see if that fixes it. It is a little bit of a pain but with a good backup you can be back up and running pretty quickly. Sprint is going to ask you to do the same thing or they are going to do it.

Update: After speaking with 2 incompetent Sprint technitions (I use that term very loosely) I told them I was just going to pull the battery. That did the trick..took a while for all the different ringtones and notifications to load (approx. 10 mins) but they did eventualloy reload. Alls well again. Thanks to all who tried to assist me.

So strange. Glad it cleared up though. Keeping my fingers crossed that this was a one time problem for ya.
