Facebook messaging not working?

I'm on AOKP b38-O2 linaro. I can't get Facebook messages to work in the Facebook app, Facebook messenger app, or friendcaster app. The Facebook app works, but can't get messages to work in any of them....

Anyone having similar problems or know my problem?

I wonder if it's Facebook itself. Because messaging not working with three different Facebook apps, one being third party? Everything else seems to work in app. News feed, profiles, haven't tried uploading pics yet. Only thing not working is messaging

Edit: go! chat for Facebook is the only messaging app I can get to work.... hmmmm.... and this app hasn't been updated since April. So it can't be something Facebook changed....

By why would friendcaster be broke too?
I installed Facebook messenger on my old device, Casio commando, gingerbread 2.3.3. It works on there. The only thing I've done recently is flashed a nandroid because I flashed a ROM I didn't agree with, and I flashed a different kernel. I don't see how either of those things would effect just the chat feature on Facebook apps....

I'm guessing I must've hit a problem switching ROMs and flashing a nandroid. No clue how that could've happened.
Guess I'll try build 39 again.

So now I'm on AOKP b39. Leankernel 3.9.0 exp 4. Fresh installed all my apps from the market. TiBu only for the apps I side loaded. Did not restore data for any apps related to Facebook....

Still not working. I can post status, check profiles, search people, receive messages. Can't check them in Facebook app, Facebook messenger app. Can check them in friendcaster. Can't reply using any of the three. Frustrating. ....

lol i'm telling you it's the FB app or the FB API's that the other apps use lol. It's garbage. It's a shame that the FB app for my old BlackBerry is better than the android version.

Then why aren't there more people complaining about this issue?
I uninstalled friendcaster. Went on Facebook PC, deleted permissions for third party Facebook apps. Still doesn't work.

The ONLY thing really different in the past week is leankernel exp 4. And I don't see how a kernel could possibly effect the Facebook apps.

Hmmmmm...... I'll try flashing a dif kernel, but I don't see how that would effect anything.

More people probably aren't complaining because their not having issues...

FB is working perfectly for me. Even notifications have been spot on since the last update (which was always a hit or miss thing for me)

If all else fails, take a nandriod, and install another ROM, install FB before anything else to see if it works...

I'm using Gummy's ROM

I've always seen random complaints about fb on android. Trust me there are plenty of people out there that hate fb for android.

My facebook can't do anything... I can't update my status, check in anywhere, ect.. Messaging seems to be the only thing that is working correctly for me :( - I agree that the facebook app on android has always been a little awful.

Update: flashed AOKP B40. DID NOT flash leankernel 3.9.0 230exp4.

Facebook works...... wtf?

Is it possible the kernel was messing up Facebook?

guess you'll have to start interacting with people face to face now

Works now. AOKP b40. Leankernel 3.9.0 230exp5.

It had to be the kernel. I don't know how. But that's my best guess. Worked on AOKP b38, b38-O2. Didn't work with lk exp4.

I'd still like to know how a kernel could effect Facebook. There's been no updates this week to Facebook or messenger.
