Help Facebook notifications on Galaxy Nexus

WhoAreYa

Lurker
Just bought the Galaxy Nexus yesterday and everytime I get a facebook notification I get an annoying tone which just goes on and on until I stop it.

Does anyone know how I change the notification settings and notification tones?

The Facebook notification alert is set to default settings (no sound), so... the alert must be from your phone settings. Go into notification settings on the device - you can either choose to turn it off or set to a shorter alert tone.

i don't get any tones with facebook notifications? anyway, there's no way to get into facebook settings until they update their app to add a menu button.

LOL, good luck with that wait.

You could try Friendcaster in the mean time. The settings have their own on-screen button so you will be able to adjust the notifications.

I wonder if someone can re-pack the APK to give it a menu button.

What I don't get is that the menu button action should be mapped to the three-dots that should appear on the bottom right.

Facebook must not be using the Android API correctly.

When has Facebook ever done anything right?

OP,
In the mean time, try another app like button saviour, which adds virtual home, settings, back buttons onto your screen as a flyout. That way you should have access to the menu button.
