Facebook now has Push!

I have this issue as well.. also noticed that I seem to be always left logged into chat even when i dont have the app open.. a couple of times now ive had the new message indicator pop up, when i click on it it brings me to a chat window
 
It worked for me the first few hours after I updated, but it no longer works. It's a facebook issue. I haven't changed any settings.

Yes I am getting push notifications! Sorry I should of worded that a little better. My settings are the same as yours but mine is set to 30 minutes intervals. Once I deleted the facebook from my accounts and downloaded the new fb app from the market push started working.
 
Notifications started getting pushed to me today. Only problem is they are seriously delayed. I am getting them usually between 30 minutes to an hour after I get the actual notification on facebook. I'd like the ability to control which notifications actually get pushed to me as well. I'd only like notifications for wall posts and messages to be pushed.

you should be able to control this from the facebook settings on the phone
 
The push feature pushes all notifications. I have message and friend requests as active in settings. But there is no ability to disable getting notifications for things such "xxxx also commented on a status you commented on" etc.
 
It would seem this FB flub is just being pushed under the radar. For an app that so many want, its surprising how little fuss is being made (or not) about the limited functionality.

Get a Blackberry. These FB push notifications seem to be wonky at best. I've now heard of a few more people who got them then stopped. I never even started getting mine- I wish I knew what was up- prob something with FB though. Like everything else.
 
I was also receiving them instantly when it first started, but as of yesterday, I'm now not getting any.
 
Seems like mine are intermittent. I get one but then will miss 2 or 3. Then I will get one.... Viscous little cycle.
 
The app kept my phone awake for 2 hours this morning, so i went back to 1.4. I'm done with this. I'll just upgrade facebook every other update - they come in twos. One for features, and then another one to fix bugs.
 
I updated to the new version, and push notifications came through about 50% of the time. my battery was getting its a ss kicked though. I uninstalled...
