Help Facebook Problem

Hi, not sure if this is more a captivate problem or a facebook problem.

I got an invite that i declined from a stranger with the topic of :
teenage girl gets 2 years in jail for status update!
First of all, why in the hell can a perfect stranger invite me to something? I don't want that. The only people who should be able to invite me to things is friends, not perfect strangers.
Second of all i deleted this on facebook online and it does not show under events anymore but i keep g on my smart phone a scrolling feed that says that stupid message over and over.
I asked a friend if she had ever heard of this stupid msg about the girl in jail etc and she immediately pounced on me and said she had received it too and could not get rid of it. Its apparently all over the net. How do i get rid of it o on my smart phone? It even shows in my calendar as a facebook scrolling feed as an event starting dec 24th at 3pm and running for a month. help!

I guess you're the only one getting that. I've never seen it on Facebook either on the computer or my Captivate. Sorry I couldn't help.

I don't know how to get rid of it. everytime i go into my calendar on my phone there is a scrolling facebook banner at the top with this stupid thing. I don't get why there is absolutely no option to delete or change, when you click on it directly the banner simply opens and says its a event lasting a month...but i can change alter or cancel any event or entry etc but this one shows no option for this.
Funny that i did a google search and a bunch of people with this msg. I looked in vain for help on facebook which i dont use much and they must have had their customer service designed by ebay.
in other words it doesnt exist, no phone numbers, no contact forms...just a feedback option which i did and got a reply that they review feedback but dont reply directly.
So if you had any issue whatsoever on facebook you cannot do anything. weird?

but then again my issue is on my phone, the event is deleted on facebook.
