So I get it, my xooms a computer, so the facebook app isn't working properly and I should be using the browser, but why is facebook chat so laggy. Typing on facebook is laggy and trying to open close chat boxes usually results in nothing happening or force closing. Is this happening to anyone else? And I'm typing this on my Xoom as of speak and I'm experiencing no lag in the typing whatsoever, just a lil tidbit that its just facebook on the browser that hinders my xoom

Same for me, I hope friendly makes an app for android. Like the one they have on the ipad

Hm, I pretty much always use the app. Only thing I can't really do in the app is tag pics of people. Everything else works. I use teh chat function in the app all the time, I was chatting with multiple people last night with no problems and no lag. Plus with the app it'll give you notifications in the toolbar when someone messages you. I suggest using the app.

I would definitely use the app cause that will only get better once Facebook updates the app for 3.0 users

facebook is not making a tablet friendly app. they havent even made one for the ipad.. there reasoning being that they consider a tablet to be more a laptop that is capable of running there desktop page.

That's exactly what I heard, and therefore I am trying to get accustomed to using the browser interface. But its so glitch with tons of lag :/

Just a guess, but I suspect that they will eventually. With HC's release and the 2nd Gen iPad (yes I know the name is iPad 2, but I wanted to emphasize the fact that it's a second go at it), the Tablet world is going to grow by leaps and bounds. The iPad brought massive growth and the next year or so will be no different.

They may elect to pass, but I sort of doubt it. Just doesn't seem like a wise business model to overlook what is/will likely be the fasted growing portion of mobile computing. The thing the have to figure out is how to incorporate advertising. Let's be honest, Facebook is not in it to help us connect, they're about Revenue, like anyone else. The current Android FB apps bring in no advertising support. With proper income potential, an APP will pay for itself and then some.

Well, what is it you don't like about the app? It works fine for me, so why would you use it in the browser if it doesn't work well, when the app works fine?

im sure we can all agree that the browser version is a lot more robust.. other than the chat lag, i have no issues. there are various ways to use fb chat.. many apps. i personally like aim cause it integrates my aim and fb

i find it to be a bit better on dolphin than the stock browser

ps. if you have access to an ipad 1 or 2.. check out the friendly app.. it is awesome.. we as an android community should bombard them with requests

I definitely agree, I like the browsers facebook better. What I don't like about the app is that its way too bland for my taste, and it always no doubt forecloses on me, i've uninstalled and reinstalled it on my Xoom twice and it still causes force closing. So I don't bother to use it anymore, though since I made this post I have used the app a few times and still gives me those annoyng foreclosures. But ill just stick to what I believe in and just use the browser, this is a computer after all is it not?

Anyone know of a fix for fb where I can see comments on pictures. If I click on a picture it wont let me scroll to see comments and the screen flickers sometimes. I've tried the app and the full site.

The app works fine for me as well, but the widget doesn't.

Is there something wrong with facebook on the xoom? The app has gone missing from the market and when I go into my setting on my xoom to add a Facebook account, it does nothing. Anyone know whats wrong?
