Only seems to work for 'friend request'.
Get f+ (Flow); it works. There are two versions, a paid one, and a free one.

Facebook push notifications have been horribly erratic or downright broken since they were introduced with the last big update to the Facebook app. Hopefully they'll be fixed soon in the next Facebook update.

Using Flow Free, is there a way to turn off general notications? I like the other features, and like being notified of birthdays and PMs, but I have a lot of friends and receiving notifications for every little thing is overwhelming.

While on the topic of FB...is not being able to "like" photos normal? No swipe to browse pictures?
