Help facebook sync failure

My friend just picked up an atrix 2 for Christmas and after last night his phone is not syncing the facebook contacts. We have gone into the settings in the contacts and tried to adjust the display settings. We have gone into accounts and sync and made sure multiple times that this account is added and is set to sync. We have uninstalled the facebook app and reinstalled it. We have removed facebook from accounts and re added it. Nothing is working. We have uninstalled other apps that have recently installed. I am at a loss here. Help?

There is a settings feature in accounts that may need to be checked....make sure facebook is added there.
You might also try going to "Contacts>manage accounts>Help importing contacts" and have the "wizard" add the account.
