Help Facebook sync

Hi I screwed up my facebook contacts so I removed my facebook account from settings>accounts and rebooted my phone and re-added facebook but its been almost 20mins and the contacts haven't returned and I haven't seen any facebook updates in my social networking widget. Perhaps I'm not waiting long enough? Is there a way to set a faster update interval with the built-in social networking app?

I don't believe there's a way to compel the device to sync. I think you just have to wait it out.
