Facebook Syncing HELP

At some point in time, I told my phone to sync Facebook. I like how it puts my contacts' facebook profile picture as their contact pic on my phone....but....

Now, when I start typing a name in SMS apps, or start typing a phone number in the dialee, I'm seeing facebook friends who are NOT in my contacts. How do I get rid of them?? Is there a way to tell my phone to ONLY sync my actual contacts and not every single person on my facebook friends list? They dont show up in my contacts, just auto suggests them in SMS and phone dialer..
 
I finally figured out this much:

You have to turn Facebook sync on to see the option to delete the account. So I had to delete my Facebook account to remove the other contacts.
 
That was my only suggestion. It's like having your cake and eating it too. You take all or none lol. We need to suggest to fb that they two tier their friends list. One that is all friends and another that you'd like to sync with. It's a cool feature but who wants to be in constant sync with all of their friends? Not me lol.
 
If you go into Contacts -->Menu --> Get Friends --> Facebook, you can select/deselect particular FB friends you do or don't want to sync with your contacts db.
 
I swear that's what I did initially, but somehow it ended up with EVERYONE. I have 2500 fb friends bc I'm a semi famous (big fish, small pond) drag racer and get a ton of "fans" friend requesting me. I seriously do not need the contact info for 2500 people. lol (it's also a pain when backing up your contacts list. Even though I only have 200 contacts, it shows that it is saving 2600something contacts...ugh...)

I just tried to re-add facebook, and nowhere do I see a way to select only certain friends, or even just my actual contacts. It's like it's sync all, or sync none. You can deselect calendar, though. But as far as contacts, it looks like it's all or none.
 
when im in the facebook app, if you go to setttings, sync contacts, i have it as sync with existing contacts... so that way it doesn't sync all. try that?

I just had to set up my facebook on my phone again, and that option was already selected when I got to that screen. We'll see..
 
Nope. Didn't work. I went to send a text to someone and started typing their name, and several other people, who I only know on FB, started showing up. It's really annoying, especially when there are so many with the same first name that the person you actually want isn't visible in the drop down. grrr

this kind of goes hand to hand for what the problem is but can you import/export to sd card in a certain group or does it just take all of your contacts from your address book, facebook, gmail and everything ect? because I want to backup just my address book to my sd card and I have like 50-100 and it says 900 im like why is it doing my facebook friends... I dont want that to backup.

You can choose Phone or Gmail. The problem is that the facebook contacts are hidden in Phone, so even though you can't see them in your contacts list, it will still save all of them when you export to SD card unless you remove them entirely by removing the facebook account in Sync.
