Facebook, Twitter, Et Al

It is possible to remove things such as Peep if you have root access, but I doubt you could get rid of all mentions of it.

I find it kind of surprising that they would assume everyone uses that stuff and include it in the OS. Seems fairly pointless to me considering the "flash-in-the-pan" nature of most social networking sites.

It's part of the contact info for a person, and I haven't found a way to not display it.
I am not quite sure what you mean. I don't use any social networking sites and I don't have relevant fields filled for any of my contacts, and I have to search very hard to even find a mention of farcebook or twatter in contact info.

It doesn't bother me either and most of the time i use the phone I don't even notice it. I have to actively go to the tab on the person contact info to get the facebook/twitter info.
