Ok so it didn't work initially but it turned out there were TWO places on facebook to remove my phone. One under applications and one under account. I removed it from both places and the contacts appeared when I added the account again to my phone. I screwed up though and added EVERYONE instead of just my contacts. So now I have to delete it and hope this works a second time.
