Facebook - Update

its sad the old app worked so much better than the updated one. i'd rather use the app from a few versions ago than have this new one take me to the mobile site and not let me see anything.

Open your browser, set it to desktop view, and log into the full Facebook website. From then on, rather than open the mobile site, the app will open the full site.

how is that better? The app should handle everything within the app not launch a browser.

I agree, but for the time being, it gives you another option. Hopefully a near-future update will make the app handle all things within the app.
 
Weird, I updated, noticed the battery drain and uninstalled.

Now my facebook won't load "older posts". I'll scroll down, click older posts, and it'll say loading older posts... and then just say older posts again without adding anything new.

Only started doing this about 3 days ago.

Mine's been doing that for a long time... *sigh*
 
Yeah mine's been doing that too, I updated and then uninstalled and it helped for a bit, but then the problem popped back up. Freakin ridiculous, I'm no programmer by any means but how hard can it possibly be to make an Android FB app that works like the iPhone/Touch app does? I think there was only one or two instances where it forced me to the web browser, but 99% of my FB usage on my Touch was within the app. This is utter stupidity.
 
when facebook had that update that changed everything it stayed running and used up battery,they had another update and it fixed the problem. now i noticed after there update the other day its back to staying running again. anybody else notice this?
 
Just got the new update after holding off from reading too many complaints. I tested it and my phone's Awake and Up time are not the same after rebooting and immediately opening the FB app. There's a sizeable difference, too.
 
The only "issue" I'm having since updating to 1.3.2 is that I cannot sync FB to my contacts anymore. This isn't a problem since I no longer want the feature, and disabled the same feature in Friendstream. I got sick of opening "Messages" and seeing duplicate FB entries all the way down. I only wanted my Gmail contacts.

Some FB contacts you have to go into the contact and confirm that it is the right one.
For example in your contact list you might have Bob Jones on face book he is Robert Jones.
You just need to tell it that that is the right guy.
 
First thing i did was click on a video that someone posted on FB.
It appears that they have a built in player.
Audio worked but no picture :(
 
I request the mods to take this thread and just send it to google. It's gotten to the point where when I check my notifications the FB app sends me to an outdated fb link, not to mention it doesn't even send me to the mobile or touch site. It sends me to the full page. This is so effing annoying. They really need to put out all the pieces. Who wants an app that only houses half of facebook. Jesus Zune's FB experience is 100 times better.
 
I had to downgrade to the new app from the factory one because I kept getting the "[null]" error when trying to load new posts, and also having the problem with older posts showing as being from Dec 31st of last year or whatever it was. All I can say is this f*cking SUCKS hardcore. Whenever I click on a notification to go to someones wall post, it's a blank f*cking page. F*ck f*ck f*ck :mad: :mad: :mad:
