Facebook ver. 1.3 is now out!!

Mine does the same on my X. It makes me all or noe of my contacts regardless of the options. then it adds 5+ im up to 9 of the same linked contact.

I'm having the same issue on my Moment, it was also draining my batt.
uninstalled until these bugs are fixed
 
I installed this new update this morning. I wondered why my battery was dead by 6:30pm, it was fully charged at 8am! Usually my battery lasts until 10 / 11 pm!

I don't know how but I think the stock fb app did that automatically the first time I tapped the sync button..
 
I'm in the same boat as most of you.

the facebook update KILLED my battery today.

Took the X off the dock this morning fully charged. Went to work. After a few hours I browsed facebook. Then about 2 hours later, my phone notified me there was less than 15% battery left. "WTF?!?" I said to myself. I popped open Spare Parts and BatteryLeft to check, and sure enough, Facebook had something like 4.5 hours of runtime.

It wouldn't let my phone go to sleep. I'm uninstalling this crap until it's fixed.

I normally have been getting around 12 hours of use without charging the X. Today I got 5.

AVOID until the Developers fix this.
 
ok, I was full of praise for this update earlier but my battery was dead before I even got home from work today, so I' guessing this is why! terrible shame :(
 
It would be nice if the Facebook developers would acknowledge the problem. This message board is full of complaints (i'm assuming others are too), and the Android Facebook page is mostly dissatisfied people. Hopefully a few of the tech sites will publish articles highlighting this problem.
 
How do I revert back to Facebook 1.2? I uninstalled 1.3 and now the application is totally gone from my phone. When I go try to download again it only gives me the option to download 1.3.
 
I was able to revert back to version 1.2 by just going to Market>Downloads>Facebook and the bottom right side had a "uninstall update" button. I had to log back in to the Facebook app and now I'm back to 1.2 without the whole phone staying awake problem.
I read that if you do a Hard Reset, you will start out with 1.2 on your phone. That could be a lot of work to reset up your phone because you will wipe all data off the phone just to get 1 app back. Good luck!

use UNINSTALLER.....there you have it 1.3.
 
Back to the original version for me also as was feeling sorry for my battery taking such a hammering!!
 
Having the same problem here. It's all over the fb page Facebook for Android | Facebook, specifically the reviews.

When will fb devs learn that beta testing is necessary? It seems like everytime they release something new it's a huge mess.

Has anyone heard anything back from the devs?
 
Still rubbish - why would i wanna use this instead of just going to the site in my browser instead? Theres no reason at all.
Also the Widget is still crap as well!
 
Honestly... the official facebook app will probably never replace bloo 1.3 for me. Live notifications and facebook chat.
 
When I click "uninstall" in the marketplace it removes Facebook COMPLETELY from my phone, no 1.2, no nothing. So basically I am stuck with this POS 1.3 or nothing at all.

That's probably how it works unless facebook was built in to the ROM (which is pretty common).

You might be able to dig up a 1.2 .apk via google.
