Welcome to the forums!
Typically the only way I know I have been able to delete posts on the Facebook application is swiping the post I just made. Sometimes it gives me the option, sometimes it doesn't, it's pretty buggy about it to be honest.
Hope this helps and thanks for joining

That's the way I did on my HTC one x but I just got my Galaxy s3 and it won't let me swipe to the left or right to delete.

Hey there and welcome to Android Forums.
Go to your time line, to the right of the post and you'll see 3 dots up and down click it and it'll give you an option to delete. I'll provide a screenie below.

Thanks DragonSlayer but I don't have the three dots. I am wondering if I have app problem so I deleted FB app and installed a new one but still won't work. I have deleted post on several other phones on FB but I can't on this one.

That's odd, using the official most up to date fb app?

Are you trying to delete from your news feed or your profile time line?

Tried from both but won't work in either place. I can go to my laptop and delete it but not from my phone.

Hmm I'm out of ideas unfortunately, you could post over in the s3 forum and I'm sure someone there will know

Go to your own timeline then the bit that lists recent activity. Find the post there then swipe to delete or click menu button on s3 and select delete.
