Root Factory Image for Nexus 7

Official Stock Factory Image from Google Jelly Bean 4.1.2 (JZO54K)

Google has released Android 4.1 factory images for a variety of Nexus devices, including the first tablet in the lineup. Android 4.1.1 images are now available for the Nexus 7, Nexus S, and Galaxy Nexus, with a few notable absences. Sprint’s Nexus S doesn’t count itself among the list, nor does the Verizon version of the Galaxy Nexus.

The availability of factory images should provide an extra security blanket for those modding the OS on their phone or anyone wishing to restore their handset to the original factory software build. Head over to the Google Developers page to snag the appropriate version for you phone.

Maguro was also given away at Google IO and it also had JB, but it would have been the GSM version, not the CDMA (Toro) that Verizon uses. We typically have to wait months for VZW to approve updates.

That didn't stop devs from hacking a GSM nandroid of JB for use on the CDMA phones. :D

This is probably a foolish question, I just don't know which side it is foolish on: Can you run this image on the emulator? (I'm guessing that it might not be the same format as the emulator images, or if it is the same format, it will barf when it finds most of the expected hardware isn't there :-).

Man I want to update but I'm not convinced that its worth leaving CyanogenMod. Lol. I went back to stock for the 4.2 update because I was so excited for the quick settings pulldown and after I flashed the update I was disappointed because it didn't seem much different. I guess I'll just have to wait for cm to implement it in there updates :(
